Our Too Many Women Campaign for Breast Cancer T Shirt has been specially designed by Vanessa Garwood (www.vanessagarwood.com). Vanessa was born 1982 in Israel, trained for three in Florence at Charles Cecil Studios which teaches a traditional approach to fine art drawing, painting and sculpting (www.charlescecilstudios.com). She has exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery Bp award 2005 where she won the visitors choice award, (http://www.npg.org.uk/whatson/exhibitions/2006/bp-portrait-award-2006/exhibitors.php) and has also exhibited at the London Cosa Gallery (http://www.cosalondon.com/events_detail.asp?id=122) .
She has been professionally painting portraits in oil and charcoal on a commission basis for five years and also does figurative and portrait sculpture. Last year she had an apprenticeship with the sculptor Dylan Lewis in South Africa and is now working on her own bronzes back in London. Creatively the other projects she has been involved in include nude drawings, T-shirt/logo/website design, animation, manga, landscape painting, still life, story boarding, cartoons, caricatures, photography, set painting and illustration. She is currently working towards an exhibition in November with the curator Aretha Campbell (www.arethacampbellfineart.com).
