Too Many Women:
Too Many Women is an amazing initiative which aims to raise over £1 million in 2010 for the pioneering work of the Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre on London’s Fulham Road. This incredible campaign was put together by Harry Becher and Catriona Blampied, who shared the recent experience of having both their mother’s diagnosed with breast cancer within a few months of each other. The outpouring of support they received has inspired them to make a difference in memory of Harry’s mother Judes and as a thanks for the wonderful treatment received by Catriona’s mother, Marilyn.
How it Works:
201 women raise £500 over the year 2010
These 201 women then ask 9 friends to do the same
= £1,005,000 !
What the Campaign is helping:
The Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research Centre is the largest in Europe and houses over 120 world-class scientists and clinicians. It's work has been hailed by cancer experts as "unmatched" and "unparalleled". With your support the centre will continue to work towards a future when breast cancer will no longer be a life-threatening disease, to a future when every breast cancer patient will receive personalised treatment and ultimately, to a future free from the fear of breast cancer.
